What is WorldRes?
WorldRes is the contracted vendor for OH&LA's Internet Reservation Service. The WorldRes System is built entirely on state-of-the-art technology and enables properties to market themselves and take real-time, confirmed reservations from many websites across the Internet using a single interface system. Their technology allows properties to directly control their own website presence, requiring only basic Internet skills to manage the system. In addition, through OH&LA's partnership with WorldRes, your property receives the added benefit of listings on other WorldRes partner sites including "Places to Stay."

How do I manage the system?
You manage your own data and system. In order to do so, you must have Internet access (Netscape 3.0 or higher is most compatible to ensure accuracy and timely updates) and be able to check your e-mail at least once a day. You can control your own inventory, plus change rates and content as often as you wish.

Do I have to make my entire room inventory available for on-line reservations?
No. You can include as many or as few rooms as you want. If you know you will be sold out on any given date(s), you have the option to show no availability for those dates. This partnership is to help you fill empty rooms not displace current business. You have complete control over ALL information on your site on the WorldRes system, including availability, rates, and text with descriptions and photos. This information can be changed as often as you desire.

How are reservations confirmed?
There are two options for confirmation. You can either have reservations faxed or e-mailed to your property. WorldRes immediately confirms the reservation to both the guest and the property.

What if I do not currently have Internet access?
To benefit from WorldRes Online Reservations you must have a way for your main contact to access the internet. Surveys and travel data show that more and more travelers are using the Internet to plan their trips. If you wish to reach and communicate with these travelers, it is only a matter of time before you will need to have a computer and Internet access to avoid losing them to your competition.

How does a traveler find out about my property?
The details you provide WorldRes including your property's picture, listing and other pertinent information, etc. is accessed through the on-line reservation area of the OH&LA or the Oklahoma Tourism and Recreation Department's website. A traveler to either website may ask for your property by name or may do a search by a number of variables such as city, amenities, rates, etc. that can lead to your property listing. Once at the listing, properties have a "book it button" allowing the traveler to make a reservation instantly. OH&LA and the Oklahoma Tourism and Recreation Department websites currently receives over 126,000 "hits" per month. In addition, the WorldRes network will generate additional inquiries through their popular partner websites. Also, the Oklahoma Tourism and Recreation Department is planning to add OH&LA's "book it" button to property listings in their new Trip Planner site to make it easy for travelers to make reservations in Oklahoma on-line at their convenience.

Are there any hidden fees from WorldRes?
No. Any Oklahoma lodging property is eligible to be enrolled on this established reservation system at no charge! Thanks to formed partnerships by OH&LA there are no sign up fees or annual fees.
